The 2023 Primetime Emmy Awards took place on January 15, 2024. It is kind of confusing because it was actually last year’s award show but because of the writers strike, it was postponed. Regardless, the Hollywood elite came out to celebrate the glory of television. Among them were actress Riley Keough and a very special plus-one.
Riley, who was nominated for her work on the Amazon series Daisy Jones & The Six, brought her grandma, Priscilla Presley, to the ceremony. The pair even coordinated their outfits by donning Chanel. It was nice to see the pair getting along after their legal troubles in 2023 regarding the Graceland Estate.
Riley is a Chanel ambassador and pulled out all the stops. Her ensemble was taken from the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2023 collection. She rocked a black sheer dress with a plunging neckline and paired it with high-waisted shorts. The shorts' black and white bee pattern gave an extra dimension to the outfit.
Riley did not forget about accessories. She paired her outfit with black satin heels, gold diamond earrings, and diamond ring. Her hair was pulled back with a black bow. Riley’s new dark hair color is reminiscent of her late grandfather, Elvis Presley.

Priscilla also looked stunning. She wore a black silk blouse and tucked it into a black full-length jacquard skirt. Her beautiful red hair was worn down. She accessorized with Chanel’s white gold Tweed Cordage diamond ring, necklace, and earrings.
Don’t worry, Riley’s husband Ben Smith-Petersen, an Australian stuntman, also got to attend to support his wife.
All eyes were on the grandma and granddaughter duo because of their recent legal troubles. It all started when Riley’s mom and Priscilla's daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, died unexpectedly in January 2023 at age 54.
It turns out Lisa Marie changed her will in 2016 but never informed her mom. She removed Priscilla and former business manager, Barry Siegel as co-trustees of her estate and replaced them with Riley and brother Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020. Priscilla disputed the change in her daughter's will.
By May 2023, an agreement was reached between Priscilla and Riley. In November, a judge approved it, making it legally binding. It appears as if the family has closed this chapter of their history.
"My family has resolved all confusion as it relates to our plea to the court and request for document interpretation after my daughter Lisa Marie's untimely passing," Priscilla explained to People in November 2023. "Although some media identified such a plea as a lawsuit, I want to make clear that there was never any lawsuit filed against my beloved granddaughter."
"As a family, we are pleased that we resolved this together,” she went on to say. “My family and I hope that everyone will grant us the privacy we have needed to properly grieve Lisa Marie and spend personal time together. We love and appreciate all of you and the Presley family is stronger than ever."
