Rebecca Romijn Finally Speaks Up About Accusations John Stamos Made In His Memoir

Rebecca Romijn has finally responded to claims that her ex, John Stamos, made about her in his memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, which was released in October 2023. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the Critics Choice Awards, the 51-year-old actress and former model said she was "very surprised" about what John Stamos wrote in his memoir. In his memoir, John, 60, accused Rebecca of cheating on him while they were together. John also told People that he "hated" Rebecca around the time of their divorce.

Months after the memoir's release, Rebecca told Entertainment Tonight that she was "blindsided" by what John Stamos included in his memoir.

"I was very surprised by all of that, incredibly shocked actually," she told the outlet. "I was sort of blindsided by it."

She didn't elaborate further — and there's a reason for that.

"I don't really want to help him sell his books based on those headlines. So that's all I really want to say about it," she admitted to the outlet.

Rebecca married her current husband, Jerry O’Connell, 49, in 2007. In 2018, John married Caitlin McHugh, 37.

Though Rebecca had not addressed John's claims about her until now, her husband Jerry previously told Access Hollywood that they didn't know what would be in the memoir until it was released.

When asked if he and his wife were surprised by the allegations, Jerry admitted that it wasn't his place to say. "I would rather my wife talk about that," he said at the time.

In the memoir, John Stamos wrote, “[Rebecca] implies, sometimes subtly and sometimes openly, that I’m not smart enough for her and her entourage of a—kissers."

He also accused her of "betrayal."

"Betrayal starts as a sinking feeling in your stomach, grows into a suspicion that clouds your every thought, and by the time you find out the truth, it’s uniquely horrible at first but also expected, like you’ve been waiting for something bad to happen," he wrote.
