Rebel Wilson Reveals That She Lost Her Virginity At Quite A Late Age: ‘Late Bloomer’

Rebel Wilson wants everyone to know that it's OK to lose your virginity when you're older. In a recent interview with People, the actress, who is now 44 years old, revealed that she was 35 when she lost her virginity. "You obviously don't have to wait until you're in your thirties like me, but you shouldn't feel pressure as a young person," she told the outlet.

She also wrote about her sexuality in her memoir Rebel Rising, which comes out April 2. She hopes that telling her story will help others.

Now, at the age of 44, Rebel recognizes that it's OK to wait until you're ready to have sex for the first time, but she didn't always see it that way. She admitted that she used to be "embarrassed" about her lack of experience.

When the topic of virginity came up in the past, she would avoid it — but now she's sharing the truth publicly.

When the topic came up as a teenager, and even as a young adult, she would try her best to avoid it, sometimes by just leaving the room when the topic came up, or lying about the age she lost her virginity.

She recalled one moment when she was speaking to her best friend about the topic. "I think I told my best friend, 'Oh, yeah, I just did it to just get it over with when I was like 23,'" she told People.

She also remembered moments when she heard others discussing virginity and saying things like "at 24, it's so late," which made her feel bad.

"I'm sitting here thinking, 'Oh my God, my number's 35 … I'm going to look like the biggest loser,'" she admitted to People.

Now that she's older, she wants to share an important message: "Not everybody has to lose their virginity as a teenager."

In 2023, Rebel Wilson, who is now engaged to Ramona Agruma, spoke to People about her sexuality and said "I never thought I was 100 percent straight" but "I don't quite know how to define my sexuality."

In her recent interview, she told People that she knew she "knew [she] was attracted to men, and that was the normal thing."

In 2023, she spoke about meeting her fiancée Ramona and "how deep the connection was and how instant it was."

"I thought I was really looking for a husband, dating about 50 guys in one year. I was always a bit of a girls' girl and had deep friendships with women, but this was the first time that it was a romantic connection," she said at the time.

She may have been a "late bloomer," but she also thinks that exploring her sexuality would've looked a lot different if she had been born during a different time.

"It's absolutely incredible, if I had been born 20 years later, I probably would've explored my sexuality more," she told People this year.
