Ricki Lake Emanates Pure Joy As She Weds Her Love Ross Burningham In A Seaside Ceremony

Actress Ricki Lake is a married woman and, by the looks of things, she's pretty happy about it. Ricki wed Ross Burningham in a stunning seaside ceremony on January 2.

Ricki shared pictures from the special day on her Instagram page. While the sunset behind the couple is a pretty breathtaking sight, Ricki's smile is what's really lighting the photos up.

"The happiest of days! 1/2/22," she captioned the images she posted to Instagram. We can totally tell.

Ricki is pretty much always happy to gush about her love for her man on social media. She frequently shares images of the two globetrotting or just hanging out. It definitely appears Ricki feels she's found her "person" in Ross.

Last year, Ricki revealed that she and her husband met "on a COVID walk." That's one amazing COVID walk, for sure. But it's so well-deserved, especially because Ricki didn't believe she'd ever find true love or happiness again.

Ricki has been through a lot in her life, like losing her ex-husband Christian Evans to suicide back in 2017. It was a pain Ricki wondered if she'd ever recover from.

The couple split when Ricki saw him exhibiting bipolar symptoms that frightened her children, but she continued supporting him. After his death, she hit rock bottom.

“I got to experience true depression,” she told People in 2019. “There were days when I couldn’t get out of bed, and that is a very scary place to be. I’m such a positive person, and to not feel like that was paralyzing.”

But Ricki is a resilient woman. She went back to work and has since produced several incredible documentary films, like Weed the People and her most recent, The Business of Birth Control, which examines the relationship between hormonal birth control and women’s health.

Ricki says she will never get over Christian's death. “I will mourn the loss of Christian’s beautiful soul every day of my life,” she said. “But human beings are resilient. And life is precious.” Still, she managed to do the most challenging thing after a devastating loss — she opened her heart back up again.

Ricki is now reveling in her happiness, and it absolutely shows. "I consider myself a very lucky woman," she told Good Morning America last year. That's perhaps true. But she's also a very brave woman. She never allowed her losses to dictate how she lives her life, and that enabled her to keep moving forward, one step at a time.
