Ryan Gosling has five words to describe the rest of his life. During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on May 9, 2024, the 43-year-old Canadian actor was asked by host Stephen Colbert during "The Colbert Questionert" segment how he would describe the rest of his life in five words. "Run it by Eva first," Ryan said in reply, as he counted the words out on his fingers. The audience immediately erupted into applause.
He also revealed that the last autograph he got was one for Eva from actor Jim J. Bullock.
Though the status of their relationship has never fully been confirmed, Ryan and Eva have alluded to being married. During a 2022 interview with The Kyle and Jackie O Show, an Australian podcast, the 50-year-old former actress bounced around confirmation of her and Ryan's marital status. "Who says we weren’t already?" she said. "I like to keep it all mysterious. I’m a very mysterious woman."
Just one week later, she called Ryan her husband during an appearance on Australia’s Today show. “Everyone is so welcoming here, and my husband, Ryan, is here, and we are having the best time."

While accepting the Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on January 13, 2024, Ryan reflected on his career led him to certain points in his personal life. “Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children," he said. “I dreamed of one day making movies, and now, movies have made my life a dream."
