On the April 1, 2025, episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, Sami Sheen was notably absent from a family meetup. Sami, 21, explained that she hasn’t really talked to her dad, Charlie Sheen, for some time now. Then, on April 15, she shed more light on their strained relationship. It seems that Sami has gone no contact with her her father for the time being — and there’s a reason for that.
In a video shared on TikTok, Sami used an audio clip from her dad’s 2011 interview on ABC’s 20/20. During the audio clip, Andrea Canning can be heard asking Charlie, “Are there any drugs in this house?” At the time, Charlie responded with, “If there are, you better find them and give them to me immediately.”
“No, there are not,” he continued during the viral interview. “Not that I know about, if I know about them, I’ll find them and throw them away. It’s not a big deal.”
He mocked the reporter by adding, “Ooh, drugs in the house, ahhh, we’re all gonna die.”
Over her video, Sami wrote, “When people wonder why I haven’t spoken to my dad in a year but this is my dad.” In the caption, she added that the audio clip from the interview “pretty much sums it up.”

Her followers could understand exactly what she meant. In fact, some of them assured her that they never wondered why Charlie would have a complicated relationship with his children.
“For what it’s worth, i never wondered why charlie sheen’s child wouldn’t want to talk to him,” one fan commented on the video.
A second person wrote: “no one has ever wondered babe. We all get it for you. 🖤✨🫶🫶.”
Many others — including those who are fans of Charlie Sheen — were supportive of Sami’s decision to go no contact. “I support you … sometimes no contact is the only option,” a third person commented.
“I like your dad,” a fourth fan commented. “But good for you, stay away from toxicity.”
On the April 1 episode of Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, when Sami didn’t join Charlie, her mom Denise Richards, and her sister Lola Sheen for lunch, she said she “would rather do literally anything else than go to lunch with my father.”
She also opened up about their complicated relationship on Gia Giudice’s Casual Chaos podcast. Sami explained that her dad was not around that much when she was a kid, and when he was, he was “likely under the influence.”
“It’s sad but I make humor out of it,” she said. “I literally cannot tell you one memory from my childhood of him where he’s been sober.”
When she was young, her mom “did a really good job of, kind of, hiding stuff” from her, she added. Recently, Denise revealed that she had to explain her ex-husband’s HIV diagnosis to Sami and Lola once he shared it publicly on the Today show in 2015. She said “it was kind of hard to explain to them what it was.” Usually, though, she tried “to shelter them from a lot of stuff” when they were kids.
