Sarah Ferguson Hoping To Land American Talk Show To Help Support Ex-Husband Prince Andrew

Sarah Ferguson apparently wants to host an American talk show in order to help support her ex-husband Prince Andrew. On Sunday, October 8, 2023, TV producer Amy Rosenblum told the Daily Mail that she and the Duchess of York met at the Regency Hotel in New York in September, where they discussed possibilities.

"Sarah told me, 'I want a show! I want a show!'" she shared. "I did a pilot with her about 15 years ago. We were up against Ellen DeGeneres and ultimately they went with Ellen. But Sarah was really good when we did the pilot. We have been friends since then."

According to reports, Sarah is wanting to continue contributing about $2 million toward maintenance work at Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, which is where Prince Andrew lives. It is a 30-room mansion that he has resided in for nearly 20 years.

Apparently, King Charles III has been wanting the Duke of York to move out of the royal property into a smaller residence, the Frogmore Cottage. However, Prince Andrew has refused any attempts of being moved out.

Andrew had recently faced losing the mansion until he paid around $200,000 for urgent roof repairs over the summer. Sarah lives at the Royal Lodge when she is in the UK.

A source close to the former couple told the newspaper outlet, "It’s true Sarah wants to help Andrew stay in what she considers their family home. She lives at Royal Lodge when she’s in the UK. It’s very much their family’s base. Andrew has lost so much. She will do everything she can to help him keep the house, even though it may prove untenable in the long term."

"Money, or the lack of it, has been a constant in Andrew and Sarah’s relationship," a friend of the former couple said. "She will do everything she can to support him now, just as she always has."

The pair separated in 1992 and divorced in 1996. They married in 1986 at Westminster Abbey.

As far as the American talk show bid goes, some seem to have pretty high hopes for Sarah landing a deal. "She’s always gone down well in America," an insider at ABC TV said. "She’s never been too proud to promote the heck out of anything, be it one of her books or WeightWatchers. Americans respect someone who hustles."

"Fergie could reasonably expect to earn around [$2.4] million a year, but that figure would go up considerably should her show be a hit," they also shared. "Ellen has retired so there is a gap in the market."
