Issues in her personal life that she wasn't necessarily open about at the time contributed to Shannen Doherty being fired from Beverly Hills, 90210. On a recent episode of Let's Be Clear With Shannen Doherty, Shannen spoke to her former costar Jason Priestley about her "really horrible marriage" and other factors in her life that affected the quality of her work at the time. Now 52, Shannen acknowledges that she was responsible for her own actions, but she also wishes that someone would've given her a warning before firing her.
"I sort of wish I would have been sat down and sort of looked at and said, 'Listen, the end result is going to be this, you are going to get fired and none of us are willing to put up with it anymore,'" she explained on her podcast.
She added that it might've helped her if someone had told her to "get her s— together."
"It wasn't anybody's responsibility but mine," she admitted.

At the same time, she admitted that she wasn't necessarily super open about what she was going through at the time — and that might have made it harder for people around her to understand or empathize with her behavior.
Jason told Shannen that he and her other costars didn't know enough about her situation at the time.
"It was incredibly hard for me and there was so many unknowns, and I wish all of us had more knowledge about what was happening in your life so we could have dealt with your situation in a more compassionate way," he told Shannen.
Shannen was fired from the show after its fourth season because of her "unprofessional behavior."
But she was dealing with a lot at the time. "Towards my last season, I was in a really horrible marriage and there were things transpiring in that marriage that made it very hard for me to consistently be on time for work," she explained.
Though her marriage problems contributed to her behavior, she still took responsibility for it: "I know that that became a very big problem for the rest of you, because as it should be, because if everybody else is on time and you're waiting for one person, it sucks," she said.
At the time, Shannen was married to Ashley Hamilton, who was struggling with addiction to drugs.
"I didn't even want to leave the house because I was scared that he would go and get drugs," she said.
She doesn't think anyone on the show knew about the problem though. "I don't think anybody knew that my father was super-sick, and I don't think anybody knew that my husband was a massive drug addict," she revealed, adding that these issues she was faced with were "all-consuming."
Shannen is currently battling cancer. Her podcast is a "live memoir" that she uses to talk about her career, relationships, cancer diagnosis and more.
