There are a lot of individuals who allow their faith to guide their decisions, and sometimes taking those leaps of faith can change their entire lives.
Amy Pollard didn’t have being a foster parent in her ultimate life plan. She was single, and even though she had a lot of strong and nurturing single parents in her family and friend group, she hadn’t really envisioned being a parent on her own at any point.
Despite her lack of confidence in herself at the time, Amy had visited orphanages for years because she loved children and wanted to help those in need in some small way.
Her feelings about fostering as a single parent started to change when an 8-year-old boy named Jeremy entered the system at the orphanage she frequented. She was immediately drawn to Jeremy and could see that someone in his past had hurt him a great deal.
She started visiting Jeremy on a regular basis, and the more they got to know each other, the more difficult it got to leave him at the end of each visit. The young boy would cling onto Amy’s legs, begging her to take him home.
