Slash's stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, died on July 19, 2024, at age 25. On July 21, Slash shared the news of her death via Instagram, and now, a week later, he has shared a heartfelt tribute to Knight.
On July 27, Slash shared a photo of his stepdaughter and captioned it with, "My heart is permenantly fractured. I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are."
"The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much," he continued. "I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally."
Prior to sharing the news of his stepdaughter's death on July 21, Slash announced that he had decided to cancel some of the shows on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour "due to unforeseen circumstances."
After several canceled shows, he resumed performing with his Toronto show on July 28. "Thank you Toronto for a really fun night!" Slash wrote on X after the show.
Slash and her mother, Meegan Hodges, both shared the same statement about Knight's death via their respective Instagram accounts.
According to the statement, Knight "passed away peacefully in Los Angeles." The statement did not provide any additional details about the cause of Knight's death.
Knight was described as "an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul."
"The family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss."

Hours after Slash shared the news of his stepdaughter's death, a final post from her was shared via her Instagram. Knight shared a selfie and captioned it with, "Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry."
"Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable," the post from Knight continued. "May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace ."
