On Sunday, July 21, 2024, legendary guitarist Slash revealed that his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, had died on July 19 at age 25. His post appeared to be from his stepdaughter's obituary, and noted that Knight "was an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul." Hours after Slash shared the news of Knight's death via Instagram, a new post was published via Knight's Instagram. The post included a selfie and a message from Knight.
"Whether I made you feel excluded, manipulated/ controlled you, told you to quit your day job from the comfort of being financially supported by my parents, or drowned real issues in toxic positivity-I am sorry," the post started.
"Countless missed opportunities and connections due to a disgustingly big ego, insecure heart and fear of being vulnerable," the post continued. "May my soul learn to evolve from my poor job at being Lucy-Bleu. Peace ."
According to the post shared by Slash, Knight died "peacefully" in Los Angeles. Knight's mom, Meegan Hodges, shared the same post that Slash shared, which also stated that "the family asks for privacy at this time and requests that social media speculation be kept to a minimum as they grieve and process this devastating loss."
Before sharing that his stepdaughter had died, Slash announced that he had to cancel several stops on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T tour "due to unforeseen circumstances."
The shows on July 22, 24, 25, and 27 were all canceled, and Slash noted that he would start performing again on July 28 in Toronto, Canada.
"We love our fans and apologize for any inconvenience this has cause," the X post stated.
