Lionel Richie is going to be a grandpa again. His daughter Sofia Richie, who he shares with ex-wife Diane Alexander, revealed to Vogue magazine that she and husband Elliot Grainge are expecting their first child. They are over the moon.
Sofia, 25, works as a model and influencer. Elliot, 30, is the founder and CEO of indie record label 10K Projects. They are both first-time parents.
Sofia and Elliot choose to do a small, intimate gender reveal with just the two of them. “I love the YouTubes and the TikToks — even before I was talking about getting pregnant — of gender reveals, so we had our OB text my assistant Becca [our baby’s gender], and we bought two party poppers: one blue, one pink,” Sofia explained to Vogue. "She left out the one with the correct color inside, and Elliot and I popped it together. We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock. My dream in life is to have a daughter.”
Elliot is equally enthusiastic. “Elliot is really excited for a girl, too,” Sofia gushed. "I think it’s so typical for boys to want boys, but he has a lot of sisters. It was really sweet. He’s very sensitive.”

Sofia and Elliot have known each other practically their entire lives. Their fathers are friends. After her public relationship with TV personality Scott Disick, Elliot’s low key nature was a breath of fresh air. They started as friends and romantic feelings developed. They got engaged in April 2022 and were married the following year at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Rock in Antibes, France.
