Watch Sting, Debbie Harry, And More Idols Sing Their Stuff Before They Hit It Big

Time can be such a funny thing, especially when you bring pop culture and dated hairdos into the mix.

This video posted on YouTube by Exedran Comps takes us back through some of the most successful pop singers before they hit the big time versus 20 years down the line when everyone knew their hit songs and they were in full idol mode.

First up in the montage is none other than The Police, with Sting as the lead singer. In a clip from 1983 when Sting was just 32 years old, you’re able to watch those soulful eyes as he sings “Every Breath You Take” with the band. Cut to a clip from 2017 when Sting doesn’t really look all that different other than sporting a shorter haircut and is singing the song that topped the Billboard charts for weeks on end in the 1980s.

Was there anyone cooler than Debbie Harry in 1979? Not really! The video shows an effortlessly edgy Debbie Harry singing her hit song “Heart of Glass” at 34 years old. The next clip showcases Debbie at 72 years old in 2017 onstage at a concert singing away to an enthusiastic crowd.

Next up is Bonnie Tyler in 1983 with that signature husky voice and Farrah Fawcett-inspired blond waves, singing her hit song “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” The stage alone and light show happening behind her will take you back to the '80s in a literal flash. Cut to the next clip from 2014, when Bonnie was 63 years old and had that same showstopping blond hair and voice singing her chart-topping anthem.

With a lot more clips to see, feel free to sit back and rank the funny hairdos and your favorite pop songs when you watch this video in full.
