Crikey! Steve Irwin’s Family Pays Tribute To Him On What Would Have Been His 62nd Birthday

Steve Irwin made his way into the hearts of countless people by teaching them all about Australian wildlife. The Crocodile Hunter died on September 4, 2006, at 44 years old. The TV personality was stabbed in the chest by a short-tail stingray barb, which punctured his thoracic wall. This occurred when he was filming with Philippe Cousteau Jr. at the Great Barrier Reef. Steve left behind his wife, Terri Irwin, and two kids Bindi and Robert Irwin.

On February 22, 2024, Steve would have been 62 years old. Terri, Bindi, and Robert all marked the occasion on social media. They all clearly love and remember their late family member.

Terri honored Steve by posting a video of his finest animal moments. Melodysheep made Steve’s passionate words into a remixed song. Steve clearly loved sharing animals with the world.

In the video, Steve shares the great lengths he was willing to go to achieve this. He admitted he had been peed on, bit, and none of his fingers looked the same anymore. “Happy Birthday! Missing my Action Man,” Terri captioned her post.

Bindi Irwin is now 25 years old and a mother herself. She shares Grace Warrior Irwin Powell with husband Chandler Powell. Grace and Steve never got to meet.

Bindi shared a carousel of photos of her dad, some of which she was in. “Happy Birthday, Dad. Your legacy will live on forever,” she captioned it. “Steve’s love for you will live on forever too. ❤,” Terri wrote in the comments.

Robert posted a video about one of his fondest memories of his father. He and Bindi used to go with their dad on his morning rounds of the Australia Zoo, sitting on his lap. They rode his Honda 100 motorcycle and had a great time.

After Steve’s death, the motorcycle sat unused. It was just too hard. Recently, Robert decided to get it up and running again. Robert is now the one who gets up every morning to do checks on the animals and the zoo, which his family still runs together.

“It’s a meaningful day to share this special story… on Dad’s birthday. It makes me so proud that his legacy lives on,” Robert captioned the video. Several people took to the comments to share how moving it was.

“I’m not crying you are… I’m definitely crying.. ,” one person wrote.
