Actress Taryn Manning Shares Strange Video Supporting Danny Masterson

Hollywood is a small town. Everyone knows everyone and gets involved in other people’s business. Sometimes, stars cannot help but to unnecessarily comment on issues that they probably should have just left alone.

On Monday, September 11, 2023, actress Taryn Manning, best known for her work in the hit Netflix series Orange Is The New Black, posted a lengthy, ranting video supporting convicted rapist Danny Masterson. She deleted the video that same night. In the video, she criticized people for condemning the disgraced actor and came to his defense.

Taryn lectured her 1 million followers. “You humiliated somebody that I actually really loved and cared for,” she said. “Everyone’s humiliated me so bad, I’m all the way in with everything that I’ve always stood for that I was hiding secretly.”

“And the fact that people wanna just tear us all down, like even with my friend Danny going to prison for 30 years,” she continued. “Yeah, he made a mistake, but everyone just keep going, keep crucifying him, as if he’s not already suffering.”

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher wrote letters to the judge in support of their friend and former costar. They did not anticipate the public backlash this would cause. They attempted to do damage control on Instagram, but fell short, coming off stiff and rehearsed instead.

Christina Ricci also got involved in the conversation. She posted in her Instagram stories to give her two cents on the situation. “People we know as ‘awesome guys’ can be predators and abusers,” she stated. “It’s tough to accept but we have to. If we say we support victims — women, children, men, boys — then we must be able to take this stance.”
