It's important to choose your words wisely, especially when you never know how they might backfire against you. Terry Sanderson, the man who's suing Gwyneth Paltrow over a 2016 ski accident, perhaps should have taken heed to this advice.
During the trial on March 27, 2023, he took to the stand to explain his reasoning behind sending an email to his daughters with a subject line of "I'm famous" after the incident occurred.
"I didn't pick my words well, not at all how I felt, and I was really trying to add a little levity to a serious situation and it backfired," Sanderson stated, also adding that his head was "scrambled" for hours after the incident occurred.
Sanderson went on to say that he was merely trying to communicate with his kids about the accident before they heard the news from someone else.

The 76-year-old filed a lawsuit against Gwyneth Paltrow in 2019 after claiming the accident caused permanent brain injury and broken ribs, among other emotional distress. While both parties agree that the collision happened, there are conflicting viewpoints on who caused it.
