Woman Offers Homeless Man Leftover Pizza, Gets Jolt Of A Lifetime When She Sees Who He Is

For some people, the unhoused individuals they come in contact with serve as a daily reminder to practice kindness and humility as it’s important to remember that you never really know who a person is.

Karine Gombeau from Paris, France, was visiting New York City with her husband and their son. The couple had been planning the trip for months as both of their work schedules didn’t allow for much quality time together.

Even though the family had been planning their trip to the Big Apple during a time of year that would be more expensive, Karine told her husband that they needed to take this trip together and enjoy their time in a new and exciting place as a family. So, they planned their itinerary and set off for New York.

According to the New York Post, while Karine and her family were in the city, they made their way to Little Italy for some dinner. As they were making the trek back to their hotel, Karine came across a man who appeared to be unhoused near Grand Central Station. He was digging through the garbage.

In a gesture of kindness, Karine offered the man her leftover pizza from the restaurant they had just dined at. The man asked her what was in the bag he was offering her to which she tried to tell him in broken English that it was “cold pizza.” The gentleman politely thanked her and they quickly parted ways.

The news outlet reports that it wasn’t until a hotel worker came up to Karine at her hotel to point out the story that went viral that showed none other than actor Richard Gere “dressed in shabby clothes” on a film set and Karine kindly handing him a bag with her leftover pizza inside.
