Super Bowl LVIII took place on February 11, 2024. The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers 25 to 22 in a close game in overtime. There were some heated moments on the field during this high stakes matchup. The cameras caught Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce apparently yelling at head coach Andy Reid during the second quarter.
After the Chiefs' victory, the press asked Travis what he said to Andy. Travis declined to comment but shared nothing but good things about his coach. Andy also gushed about his player. It is clear that the men respect each other even if they don’t always see eye to eye when trying to win.
Travis played it cool when asked the question. “You guys saw that? I’m going to keep it between us unless my mic’d up tells the world,” he stated. "I was just telling him how much I loved him,” he joked.
Travis and Andy’s confrontation came right after Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco fumbled the ball. Travis was not happy to be sitting on the sidelines. He ran at Andy and grabbed his arm. Chiefs running back Jerick McKinnon intervened and got Travis away from Andy.

There is no bad blood between the coach and player. “He keeps me young,” Andy lovingly stated. “He tested that hip out. He caught me off balance — normally, I’d give him a little bit, but I didn’t have any feet under me.”
Travis also gushed about Andy. “I got the greatest coach this game has ever seen,” he stated. “He's unbelievable at not only dialing up plays and having everybody prepared, but he's one of the best leaders of men that I've ever seen in my life."
Travis knows he can get a bit carried away. "And he's helped me a lot with that, with channeling that emotion, with channeling that passion," he went on to say. "And I owe my entire career to that guy and being able to control how emotional I get and I just love him, man.”
