Anyone who is on social media even casually knows how often Donald Trump and those closest to him are also on social media. He created his own platform, Truth Social, after all. Now, a user on X, has called out Trump and his inner circle of colleagues and politicians for being part of an “influencer administration”.” And, as dystopian as that may feel, it could be right on the money.
Trump is on Truth Social, Instagram, and X, and he posts content regularly. The White House uses X to share world updates and memes. Pete Hegseth, the secretary of war (formerly defense) also shares videos and commentary on X. Aside from that, we have the vice president, JD Vance, appearing on podcasts. Even MAGA enthusiasts have to admit there is some truth to this claim.

If anyone needs proof of the claims of Trump’s inner circle and his administration being full of influencers, all we need to do is turn to X, Instagram, and Truth Social. The White House even has an account on TikTok. The biggest piece of evidence shown in the X post in question is Kash Patel signing actual autographs after taking a private jet that one can only assume is fully or partially funded by tax payers.
The user on X shared a post that Patel made on his own official account as the director of the FBI. In his post, Patel shared an edited video of himself enjoying the FIFA World Cup and signing autographs for…fans? Supporters? What do we even call them at this point?

A user replied to the post with, “I call it the PR Presidency. It’s literally all they care about, EXCEPT for when it comes to war. They f–king love war.”
Someone who saw Patel’s post commented, “I thought this @FBI post was really weird, like they all don’t even know their job or something.”

According to NPR, in the first four months of 2026 alone, Trump posted on Truth Social an average of almost 19 times per day. To be more exact, per the outlet, it was 2,249 total in just those first four months of the year. If you hop over to Trump’s Truth Social account, you can see new posts of his at any given time of the day, from memes to long drawn out paragraphs with random words either capitalized or in all caps, seemingly for emphasis.
After Trump was banned from some other platforms, he launched Truth Social in 2022. It was created under the parent company Trump Media & Technology Group. Per AP News, Trump first wrote a blog, but that segued into Truth Social which has, for all intents and purposes, served as a way for him to write out what would otherwise be blog posts for the two-time president.
Trump’s granddaughter has literally said she aspires to be an influencer.
Maybe Kai Trump isn’t an official part of the Trump Administration, but the fact that she is the president’s granddaughter and she is a content creator further drives home the idea of this being an influencer administration. Kai has a hefty presence on Instagram and she has a YouTube channel with more than 1 million subscribers.
According to The Spun, Kai said in a since-deleted Instagram post, “Playing golf, social media, entertaining, creating my own business. I think that’s my dream job. Traveling the world, meeting new people is probably my dream job.”
She said something similar when she answered fan questions in a YouTube video. In the video, Kai says that in five years, she sees herself playing gold professionally and also “maintaining [her] socials and creating [her] own brand.”
