When Donald Trump visited Pennsylvania as part of his midterms tour to share details of his further plans for the country and, in this case, the Rust Belt, he went off on a few tangents during his speech. It probably wouldn’t be a Trump-led event without the president saying some off-the-wall things that people clocked right away.
In a video posted on X, Trump seems to take it a step further than usual. While telling a story, the context of which isn’t too clear in the snippet, Trump appears to moan on-stage. He isn’t met with a thunderous applause, either, which means even his supporters in the audience were a little flabbergasted at his mini outburst.

In the video, Trump talks about a mother and father watching on as their daughter attempts to lift weights. He pantomimes the girl trying and failing to lift weights while moaning through the faux exercise. It’s all about what Trump sees as an issue with female sports and, for some reason, he chose this speech as an opportunity to go off about it.
In a longer version of the same speech, Trump says, “The men in women sports, please don’t do the weight lifting thing.” He then pantomimes lifting weights barely above his shoulders. Apparently, that’s how he thinks you’re supposed to lift weights, so maybe he isn’t the best person to make any demands about who should be competing in which sport.
Trump also says that, in a situation where a female athlete competes against a transgender female in the same sport, it can result in an unfair advantage to the latter. He claims that the girl who fails to lift the weights inevitably “drops them” and is then “devastated for the rest of her life.” I mean, that’s a little dramatic.
People called him an “embarassment” to MAGA.
In the comments under the X post about Trump and his moans during that part of his speech in Pennsylvania, people joked that the moaning has to be part of fanfiction out there somewhere. Others wrote that Trump is acting like a child in the clip, and, really, other times too.
“This is the guy who MAGA people think is manly,” a user commented. “What a f–king embarrassment he is.”
Another person wrote, “How does this help anything he is trying to accomplish?
It is one thing to be laughed at because your military has failed to meet objectives, but doing whatever this is…”
“That’s the MAGA ‘alpha’ male energy apparently lmfao,” an X user also commented.
Someone else joked, “He isn’t moaning he is making sounds to cover the sounds of bowel movements in his diaper IMO.”
He banned transgender women athletes from some sports.
Before this speech or this portion of his long speech in Pennsylvania, Trump spoke out against transgender women in sports. In February 2025, Trump signed an executive order called Keeping Men Out of Women’s Sports. The National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) was formed to change its policies because of the order. According to Littler, the organization was forced to limit women’s competitions to women who are assigned female at birth.
At the time, Trump said, per NPR, “With this executive order, the war on women’s sports is over.”
He added, “If you let men take over women’s sports teams or invade your locker rooms, you will be investigated for violations of Title IX and risk your federal funding.”
