Trump Aide Sparks Outrage After Suggesting God Chose Donald Trump To Be President

Throughout President Donald Trump’s second term, people have been concerned about the way those in his circle seem to stand by him no matter what. Officials have been criticized for bending over backwards to appease the president and even presenting him with “fake” awards.

And still, none of them could even compare to Stephen Miller, who recently said Trump was chosen by God to be president.

He made this claim on the Fourth of July.

Amid complaints that the 250th anniversary of the United States was made into a partisan affair by the Trump administration, Miller took to social media to praise the president on July 4. This alone would have bothered some people. But Miller didn’t merely recognize Trump in his post.

Instead, he wrote, “It is impossible to review the events of the last decade and conclude that it is anything other than divine providence that Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States on the year of America 250, July 4th, 2026.”

In response, some critics told him it’s actually completely possible. Someone wrote that they just “reviewed the events of the last decade,” and did not come to the same conclusion that Miller did. “I just did this and easily concluded that it was something else,” they commented. “Not sure why it’s hard for you?”

But critics do not seem convinced that Miller truly believes what he says.

They assumed that he was just sucking up to the president (and being really extreme about it). “Laying it on a little thick even for you,” one critic commented. “You are a cartoon.” Someone else said, “not for a second do i believe you believe this.”

“Bro’s suckin’ up like a vacuum… 🤡” a third critic added. Meanwhile, another person said Miller’s post was “beyond blasphemy.”

Several people pointed out that Trump has made some questionable statements about Christianity in the past. A Pew Research Center survey found that 70% of Americans believe that Trump is either “not too religious” or “not at all religious.”

In response to Miller’s post, one critic wrote, “still funny to me how Donald Trump is very clearly an atheist and he still has somehow gotten a quarter of the country to talk about him like this.”

Even some people who said they voted for Trump mocked Miller for this.

By many people’s standards, Miller took it too far with this one. One person who said they voted for Trump three times told Miller he really didn’t need to be sucking up to Trump in this way. “He hasn’t done anything for the little people who are actually citizens,” they wrote. “… Your admin is a joke.”

Someone else said, “Trump has betrayed us all. Distance yourself from him, Stephen…He has failed at everything in his second term from health to immigration. And he’s a moron.”

Trump and those in his circles have repeatedly accused those who are critical of him of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome,” or TDS, which they describe as an obsessive or irrational negative perception of the president that prevents them from analyzing anything he does in an objective way. But Trump critics think Miller appears to be struggling with the same kind of thing in a different form. “This is also Trump derangement syndrome,” one critic concluded.
