These Twins Were Born On Different Days, Months & Years — But Only Minutes Apart

Two sets of New Year's twins were born on different days, months, and years — but only minutes apart. Exactly how, you may be wondering? Well, one child was born a little before midnight on December 31, 2023, while the other child was born a little after midnight on January 1, 2023.

One couple welcomed their babies in Connecticut while the other parents delivered theirs in New Jersey. No doubt, this is going to be an exciting birth story for them to tell their children once they get older, and this will likely be their go-to fun fact of a lifetime!

At Yale New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, Mykel and Aliyah Kiyomi Morris welcomed their son, Seven Morris, at 11:59 p.m. on December 31, 2023. Shortly after, at 12:02 a.m. on January 1, 2024, they welcomed their daughter, Souli Morris.

“Parents Mykel and Aliyah Kiyomi Morris of Hamden, CT welcomed in baby boy, Seven Morris, at 11:59 pm on December 31, 2023. He was easily the last recorded birth at YNHH in 2023. But wait, there’s more! Seven’s birth only set the table for twin sister, Souli Morris who arrived only minutes later, at 12:02 am,” the hospital's Facebook post read.

The family told a local news station that the mother and babies are “doing great.” The photo shared of the New Year's twins show them cuddled together, holding each other's hand and each holding the hand of one of their parents.

Another couple from Merchantville, New Jersey, Eve and Billy, welcomed their son Ezra at 11:48 p.m. on December 31, 2023. They welcomed their other son, Ezekiel, a little while after at 12:28 a.m. on January 1, 2024.

But their story doesn't end there! Eve’s birthday is on December 7, and the couple's wedding anniversary is on December 12. Ezra now shares a birthday with his father, Billy. And the twins eldest brother will be turning 3 on January 3, 2024.

"I was very excited [about] the potential of having my boys on my birthday," Billy told Good Morning America. "We went in that day and I wasn't quite sure if they're going to come today or not, but having one of them at least on my birthday was a huge blessing and a gift."

"It was a good experience," Eve shared. "It was cool pushing out a baby while everyone's counting down and saying 'Happy New Year' and, you know, it was like they had a birthday party."

"I'm grateful everyone was healthy and things went pretty smoothly," she continued. "So that's the best thing you can ask for, especially because they're a little bit early and everything, that they're doing fine and I'm fine."
