Benjamin was raised by his Aunt Margaret from the age of 6. His father died of an overdose and his mother was serving time in prison. Things had certainly never come easy for Benjamin and he spent much of his youth pushing boundaries and trying to decipher who in his life cared about him.
After a turbulent adolescence, when Benjamin turned 19, his aunt was diagnosed with terminal cancer and she died just a few months later. Even though he was devastated, Benjamin always had a soft spot for the aunt who took him in, so he knew he needed to move forward and try to make her proud.
After working a few odd jobs over the years, Benjamin discovered he loved to cook. He soon found a job with a Latin restaurant that was looking for an assistant chef. He applied for the job and was given the opportunity to work at a reputable restaurant.
