Vanna White Corrects Claims About Pay And Makes It Clear She Wants Pat Sajak’s Salary

After cohosting Wheel of Fortune for more than four decades, Vanna White wants to be paid the same amount as her costar. Vanna, 66, has worked as a host on the show since 1982, and reportedly received her last pay increase 18 years ago. Her cohost, Pat Sajak, recently announced his retirement, and Vanna is now in the process of negotiating her salary deal.

Puck News reported that Vanna has made $3 million per year since 2005, while Pat reportedly makes $15 million per year, according to Forbes.

A report from TMZ claimed that Vanna wouldn't continue to host the show unless she made at least half of Pat's salary. However, another source refuted this claim, saying that half of Pat's salary was not enough.

"[Fifty] percent of Pat’s salary is so outrageous that no one in their right mind could say that it’s fair," a source told People. "The negotiation is asking for much more than 50 percent of his salary. It's asking for the same pay — if not more."

Ryan Seacrest will be taking Pat's place on the show, and the negotiation between Sony Pictures Television and Vanna is reportedly still ongoing.
Last month, it was reported by People that Sony Pictures Television "would like to have [Vanna] back."

A source told People that Vanna was previously discouraged from trying to fight for a higher salary.

"Vanna was told, ‘If you fight this, you will lose your job, You’re lucky to have the job.’ And when people tell you that for so long, you believe it,'” the source claimed.
