There is always interesting gossip when it comes to celebrities. Most of the time it’s focused on who is dating whom, but the other hot topic that tends to get everyone's attention is friendships.

Most celebrity friend groups are tight-knit, but make one wrong move and you are out — and the gossip spreads across all platforms. Two well-known actresses used to be the best of friends when they were rising stars: Winona Ryder and Gwyneth Paltrow.
These ladies were inseparable. They were always seen together, and whenever they had the chance to go out and have a good time, they never let that opportunity slip away. Then things took a turn for the worse.
The two were together at Winona’s house and Gwyneth found the script for the film Shakespeare in Love. Winona was being considered for the role of the protagonist, but as Gwyneth was flipping through the script, she knew it was the project she had been looking for.
Soon after, Gwyneth pulled some strings, and in a matter of weeks, the new protagonists of the films were announced: Joseph Fiennes and Gwyneth Paltrow. After that information was released, the former best friends quit talking to each other.
Of course, as any best friend would, Winona felt betrayed. It didn’t help that Gwyneth won an Oscar for best actress for her performance in that film. Winona was tired of being the jealous friend and decided to be truthful about the whole situation so the world could get her side of the story.
Gwyneth, of course, denied everything that was said about her. She said, “Miramax was interested in the story, and I was the first person who was offered the leading role. I couldn’t stop reading the script, it was perfect, so I agreed to play Viola.” The pair continued to not speak, but the tension kept rising due to news stories that kept coming out about them.

True colors started to show when Winona got charged with theft and Gwyneth wrote in her blog, “Back in the day, I had a “frenemy”, who, as it turned out, was pretty hellbent on taking me down. This person really did what they could to hurt me. I was deeply upset, I was angry, I was all those things you feel when you find out that someone you thought you liked was venomous and dangerous.”
