Woman Allegedly Finds Look-Alike On Instagram & Commits Murder To Fake Her Own Death

This true crime story sounds stranger than fiction. A German-Iraqi woman and her boyfriend are accused of finding her doppelgänger on Instagram for nefarious reasons. They allegedly needed a body to fake her death. Sharaban K. and Shequir K.’s trial began on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, in Germany.

The alleged murder victim was beauty blogger Khadidja O. The couple contacted hundreds of women on Instagram but chose her because she looked so much like Sharaban. They told her they had a makeup kit for her to get her to meet up with them.

Once Khadidja met up with the couple, they allegedly drove her to the woods. Once there, they are accused of stabbing her to death. She was reportedly stabbed over 50 times.

It is alleged that Sharaban wanted to fake her own death to get away from her family who were not pleased that her marriage failed. Sharaban allegedly left her car in the woods with Khadidja’s body inside. Sharaban’s family initially thought it was her body, but the police investigation revealed the darker truth. Sharaban and Shequir are also accused of hiring a hitman to kill Sharaban’s brother-in-law.
