100-Year-Old Woman Doesn’t Let Age Slow Her Down And Continues To Run Races

Ida Keeling is not a runner like any other. She's endured a hard life, and even after the 100 years she has spent so far on this Earth, she still finds the time and energy to hit the pavement.

Ida is also the 60-meter dash national champion in the 95- to 99-years-old range.

She sustained her surprising ability thanks to her daughter. When she was 67 years old, her daughter introduced her to running as a way to cope with her depression. By then, both her sons had died from drug-related violence. She was a single mother, and throughout her life, she held many different positions: she was once a window washer, a seamstress, and a babysitter, among many other jobs she had to keep her family afloat.

Now, she's still running, and she's participated in races all over the world!

Ida says that she doesn't want to be like all the others her age who sit around. And she has advice for people of all ages: you have to get up and do things, even if you don't want to!

Watch the clip to see this sprightly elderly lady in action.
