Just weeks before her school year started, 11-year-old Skylar Berry went to a summer camp put on by the fire brigade in her area of California. It was at that camp where she learned daily first aid that everyone should have under their belt, including CPR.
Just weeks after learning, Skylar was at a friend's house at a pool party, when one of the boys in the group suddenly sank to the bottom of the pool. Thinking quickly, Skylar helped pull the boy out of the pool and started giving him CPR, all while a frightened parent talked to 911.
Watching the video, you can hear the parent on the phone, and then kids in the background saying that the boy is breathing again – all thanks to Skylar.
This is why it's so important for everyone in your family to know basic first aid.
