My mom used to run her fingers through my hair or rub my back until I fell asleep. She also told me years after my childhood was over that she used to keep sitting there even after I was fast asleep with my mouth wide open, dreaming of candy and puppies.
She said that she used to love those peaceful moments, and even now, I think she still sneaks a peek when I sleep at home and I’m feeling sick or tired.
Apparently, there’s something calming about watching your sleeping child, no matter what age.
I think it proves that a common saying is pretty true: nothing can compare to a mother’s love, right?
