Kids who live with medical conditions often have to deal with feeling "different."
Fortunately, many of them have devoted parents who will do anything to make sure they live normal, happy, confident childhoods.
Some parents come with their children to every doctor visit in order to make them feel safe. Others even tattoo themselves with their child's scars and devices so they never feel alienated.
One particular dad got crafty when it came to making his daughter feel less self-conscious at her swim meet.
She, as well as other children with diabetes, has to wear a glucose meter or other devices to keep her body regulated.
Some kids can feel a little bit strange having to wear something on their body that other kids don't have.
But with a little bit of duct tape and a lot of devotion to his daughter, this amazing dad was able to boost her confidence while making waves all over cyberspace!

This photo, snapped at a little girl's swim meet, went viral on Imgur this week for a very touching reason.
That's because this amazing whale sticker, which might at first seem like a cool temporary tattoo, is actually part of the little swimmer's CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitor).

A CGM is a device often worn by those with diabetes.
As explained by one Reddit user: "It is a device that is able to track blood sugars, that is then sent to a small device… where you are able to see your blood sugar levels and which direction you are heading. Nothing is as accurate as poking your finger and testing, but the technology with these is pretty amazing. Others can track your blood sugars as well via their app."
Because these devices are worn on the body, sometimes visibly, it's not uncommon for kids to feel self-conscious.

The girl's father was tasked with transforming her meter at the meet, since it would be exposed to onlookers.
He rose to the occasion with the help of some dollar store duct tape and a little creativity.
Rather than draw attention away from it, he enhanced it by making a temporary tattoo of her team's mascot — the killer whale.

But duct tape designs are not the only resource available for kids to dress up their pumps and feel confident.
Websites like Pump Peelz and Grif Grips specialize in products designed to doll up the various diabetes mechanisms.

They have cool decals that stick to glucose meters or insulin pumps, commonly worn on the belly or arm.
The stickers instantly make them amazing and enviable accessories that kids can confidently rock.

They also sell cool, colorful bandages that stick over diabetes devices like the bespoke killer whale did.
They make arm and tummy contraptions look like fun tattoos.

They come in almost any shape and color you can imagine, so everyone can showcase their favorite sport, animal, or hue via their pump.

Although they may be managing some serious medical conditions, there is no reason that kids can't look on the bright side with these awesome accessories.
Rather than conceal them in shame, kids can proudly sport their various devices that help make them who they are.
