Little Girl Who Sang ‘Let It Go’ In Ukrainian Bomb Shelter Performs On TV For Millions

A little girl from Ukraine was living her wildest dreams just weeks after being trapped in a bomb shelter, fearing for her life.

Amellia Anisovych was a 7-year-old girl who caught the attention of the world when a video of her performing "Let It Go" from Frozen in a Ukrainian bomb shelter went viral. Amellia bravely sang for her fellow citizens in the Kyiv shelter, bringing some to tears and leaving others in awe.

Marta Smekhova was at the Ukrainian bomb shelter and encouraged Amellia to perform after meeting her while helping children in the shelter take their minds off things with arts and crafts. That little bit of encouragement has now helped Amellia reach a much larger audience.

Shortly after the video went viral, an update was shared that Amellia had been moved out of the country safely. She was able to get to Poland, where she is staying with her grandmother.

While in Poland, Amellia was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. The 7-year-old was invited to sing the Ukrainian national anthem on television as part of the "Together With Ukraine" benefit concert. The event, organized by the aid organization Polish Humanitarian Action, featured artists from Poland and Ukraine performing.

Amellia accepted the offer and traveled to the Polish city of Łódź for the show. She looked nervous and overwhelmed as she took the stage, but the second she opened her mouth to sing, Amellia totally nailed it.

Watching Amellia perform for so many and living out her dreams after experiencing something so heartbreaking and unfathomable for a child was truly an emotional moment for many. Many are hoping it's the beginning of a new chapter with endless possibilities for the girl.

Amellia is hoping that her next dream, of being back in Kyiv with her mom and dad, will come true soon. In the meantime, she continues to practice her singing.
