Amy Schumer just gave birth, in case you missed it in all the new baby frenzy (royal baby, Kim Kardashian, etc.). Amy welcomed her first baby, Gene, with husband Chris Fischer on May 5.
With Amy being the exceptionally candid person that she is, we can expect a lot of very frank discussions of first-time motherhood from her. On Mother's Day, for example, she posted a photo of herself sitting on the toilet in the hospital.
But she can also be really heartfelt, and her recent "post baby annoying post" is a great example. The post shows her cuddling her new baby, and the caption is full of gratitude.
"Women are the s***," Amy wrote in the post. "Men are cool and whatever but women are f***ing warriors and capable of anything."
She went on to sincerely thank her doula, medical team, friends, and fellow women. Oh, and the anti-nausea products that helped her throughout her notoriously bad hyperemesis.

Throughout her entire pregnancy, Amy incorporated her notorious sense of humor into her discussions of motherhood. She announced the pregnancy with a photo of her and Chris' heads on Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's bodies.
Amy and Meghan stayed on the same pregnancy timeline, as Amy quipped. Amy gave birth on Sunday night, and Meghan gave birth on Monday morning.
"10:55 p.m. last night. Our royal baby was born," Amy joked when she announced Gene's arrival.
The comedian is already on top of her mom selfie game, with plenty of photos of herself and baby Gene on Instagram.
She announced the baby's name by posting an adorable photo of him with his dad.
On Mother's Day, she posted a photo of herself on the toilet at the hospital, with her sister holding the baby.
"Milf alert 1 o'clock," she wrote.
Prior to that, she posted a photo with the caption: "New kid, who dis?"
But one of Amy's photos came with a surprisingly sincere caption about her birth experience.
"Ok here’s my post baby annoying post and my takeaway from pregnancy," she wrote.
"Women are the s***. Men are cool and whatever but women are f***ing warriors and capable of anything," she continued.
She went on to thank and recommend her doula: "I was lucky enough to get to have a doula. Her name @domino_kirke @carriagehousebirth what do doulas do? I don’t totally know But what she did was make me and Chris feel totally secure and supported throughout my pregnancy and the birth process. I really recommend getting one if you can."
And then she shouted out every member of her delivery team.
"Doctor Brill and all the nurses and pediatricians at Lenox Hill and all the other hospitals i spent time in this year, thank you for everything," she wrote.
"I did Pilates with strong women and went for walks," Amy continued. "I threw up violently and felt sick mostly every day of my pregnancy. Hyperemesis is real and it’s awful. But f***, what they say is true. The second you give birth it’s gone."
She named one particular page, HG Moms, for featuring "the best research I found on the condition."
"The only thing that helped me with my nausea was products from @thelordjones," she added.
She ended with a meditation on childbirth in general and how women can be there for one another.
"I learned that globally 1 in 5 births take place without the assistance of a skilled birth attendant. @everymomcounts is a great place to donate $250 equips a midwife with a bag of medical equipment needed to provide care to hundreds of women and babies in Guatemala," she said.
She continued: "All my friends. Friends I’ve had for 30 years or people who encouraged me to 'keep going' or telling me 'it will be worth it'. Thank you."
Finally, she concluded by writing: "Every woman I encountered is so willing to help and advise you and I felt all their strength. And you were right. Thank you ladies from my family. Chris, Gene and of course Tatiana."
She has a lot to be thankful for, for sure.
And of course, she ended the sweet post with two Amy-style hashtags about her leaking boobs and mommy diaper. Some things never change.
