Anderson Cooper Reveals He Just Welcomed A New Baby And Benjamin Maisani Is Adopting Wyatt

On February 10, 2022, Anderson Cooper shared joyful news on his program Anderson Cooper 360. The proud father of Wyatt, age 22 months, has just welcomed a second baby boy into his home.

Anderson kicked off the show by saying, "I wanted to start out with some good news, which also happens to be very personal news," before sharing photos of Wyatt when he was a newborn and Wyatt now.

He continued, "These are the pictures I showed of Wyatt then, taken just days after he was born. This is Wyatt today. He is nearly 22 months old. He is sweet, funny, and the greatest joy of my life."

Anderson then added that Wyatt has a lot to be excited about these days: "If he looks particularly happy in this picture, it's because he now has a baby brother. His name is Sebastian, and I would like you to meet him."

Anderson introduced the newest member of the family, who has a very specific last name. "This is Sebastian Luke Maisani-Cooper. He was 6.8 pounds at birth and he was healthy and happy and even his occasional hiccups, are to me, adorable. He mostly just sleeps and eats and certainly poops, but he already seems like a wise and thoughtful little chap."

As many recall, Maisani is a direct reference to Benjamin Maisani, Anderson's former romantic partner who is co-parenting with Anderson.

Anderson went on to clarify the members of his family, indicating that his "best friend and former partner" Benjamin Maisani is father to both boys. "Wyatt calls me 'daddy' and Benjamin 'papa.' We're a family. Benjamin is also in the process of adopting Wyatt, whose last name will be changed to Maisani-Cooper as well."

Anderson will be enjoying a few weeks off to bond with the newest member of the group, but not before telling CNN anchor John Berman a little more about Sebastian. "He's doing great and he's just so adorable," Anderson gushed, "he's got a lot more hair than Wyatt had when he was born, and he's just incredible."
