There are moms all over the world who sometimes get the 'crazy' label because of the way that they protect and care for their baby.
It's a mom's job to make sure that their baby is always safe, whether it's from a cold or from something more harmful.
But, people who judge continue to believe that if a mom doesn't let anyone touch or kiss her baby, that they are going over the top, or being overprotective.
Now, Amy Stinton is here to remind you that there's actually no such thing as an overprotective mom.
Stinton never lets any strangers or new acquaintances interact with her baby, and she's a very safe mother to her kids.
But, someone she knows, in her circle of family and friends, kissed her 14-month-old baby, Oliver Roy Stinton.
Now, he suffers the consequences of that person who carelessly kissed him while having a cold sore, and gave him a disease he'll have to live with forever.
Although Stinton doesn't want to place blame on anyone, she has since posted on Facebook about her son's diagnosis so that it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Oliver's big sister, Ava Grace, is now 8 years old. Pictured here when Oliver was a bit younger, it's beautiful to see that he has a big sister looking out for him.
Although her kiss would never do any harm to her baby brother, others can.
Anyone's can for that matter, because the symptoms are sometimes non-existent, but to babies, they can be severe.

This is the post that Stinton wants people to see.
Baby Oliver was covered in sores and after rushing to the doctor, he was given a diagnosis of herpes. Something that he will now have forever, all because of interaction with a person with a cold sore.
Oliver was in the hospital for four days with an IV drip, this is clearly something people need to be more careful of.

Stinton and her baby boy above, are determined to get their message out and spread awareness.
Stinton said, "It will never flare up this bad again, but he will have this for life. His body will learn to fight the virus, and we will learn to know the signs."

Thankfully, Oliver has a great support system aiding in his recovery.
They are all ready to move on with him, healthy and sore free.
But that doesn't mean they're forgetting about what's happened.
They too can find themselves with cold sores, and like everyone else, they need to be aware of the signs and health risks.

Although, you obviously have to let your baby live their life and interact with people. It's extremely important to be aware of the signs and symptoms of things like this.
Cold sores are common amongst all ages, but babies are more vulnerable to the simple spot becoming something much more severe.

Luckily, adorable Oliver is getting better and he will recover.
But, again, he will have to deal with this and medicate any outbreak, for the rest of his life.
If you see someone with a cold sore, don't offend them, but don't let them in contact with your baby's skin.
The outcomes can be devastating.
