Blanket "Bigi" Jackson, the youngest of Michael Jackson's three children, is all grown up. We usually don't hear much from the icon's son, now 19, but he just gave a rare interview with Good Morning Britain.
It's been 12 years since Michael Jackson's death, but Blanket says that he and his siblings are still finding ways to honor their father. Walking around a room filled with Michael's belongings, he said, "There's a lot of really cool stuff here. I think there's a lot of history in this house and studio here." Bigi added, "That's what he was all about."
The interview took place while Blanket was attending brother Prince Jackson’s Thriller Night Halloween Party. The event raised funds for the Heal Los Angeles Foundation and was held at their family’s Los Angeles estate.
Days earlier, Prince Jackson spoke to the same outlet. He opened up about how his father really ingrained in him and his siblings how important their bonds would be.
"When we were growing up, my father would say, 'We could have nothing, but you look around in this room, your brother, your sister, and me, that's all you'll ever have,'" Prince said. "That always stuck with my siblings and I, and we have such a close relationship."
"Because I'm the oldest, my father would always tell me [that] I have to make sure that the group is taken care of and that I have to be the leader and lead by example," he continued. "But, after his passing, and kind of us being thrown into the 'real world,' my siblings, honestly, they picked up the slack that I unfortunately left behind."
Prince truly cherishes his relationships with both of his siblings. "Any moment I get to spend with my siblings now, especially as we're getting older and our own lives are starting to kind of blossom and grow, every moment that I get with them — any little family dinner, any family outing — is really a special moment for me."
