Jordan Block, 10, has spinal muscular atrophy that has left him confined to a wheelchair since the age of 2. Recently, Jordan went to the doctor for a checkup.
After the appointment, Jordan's family wanted to him to have some fun. So they decided to take advantage of the hot, sunny day by heading off to the Crown Fountain at Millennium Park, a sculpture and interactive public art installation in the heart of Chicago.
Splashing around in the fountain's cold water is something Jordan has done before. In fact, he says it's one of the only activities he can take part in when visiting the city.
But just as Jordan went to check out the fountain in his wheelchair, a security guard approached his mom, Megan.
She was absolutely stunned when he said they had to leave.
Now Jordan and his family are sharing their story to explain how an outdated "liability excuse" should have never been used at a public park.
