I'll be honest, I've never been much help when it comes to taking care of a lawn. While growing up, my mom decided I should grab our push lawn mower and hit the backyard one day. When she found me with tears streaming down my face about 10 minutes later, her first thought was that I was throwing a tantrum. To be fair, I did do a lot of that back then, but the real culprit this time was my allergies.
For those with disabilities, it can be even worse than a particularly powerful seasonal aversion to pollen. Paying for professionals is always far more expensive than is necessary, something Sylvia Murray certainly couldn't afford to rely on. The Tonawanda, NY native was at a loss and finding herself extremely embarrassed by the shabby state of things surrounding her home.
She even found it difficult to take her small dog for walks and barely saw any sunlight pour through her windows due to the volume of overgrown grass and tree limbs.
Thankfully, that's all in the past now thanks to six kind young men from her local Boy Scouts organization who volunteered their time to taking care of all her lawn care needs. Led by their Scout Master, the boys didn't seem to mind sweating through the hard work as they mowed, chopped, and trimmed away at the disarray.
Murray was understandably overwhelmed when they arrived with their sweet offer. Her eyes instantly filled with tears of gratitude watching them completely transform her front and backyard.
