I’ve heard”Something’s Got A Hold On Me,” by Etta James, before from many different singers — but I’ve never heard a rendition quite like this!
The Cactus Cuties, hailing from Lubbock, TX, are four young girls who, while small in stature, are incredibly big in voice and amazing talent! Their incredibly skilled performances have been featured on everything from The Oprah Winfrey Show to several major sporting events — and their incredibly popular YouTube videos have been watched by millions of people all over the world.
Their impromptu rendition of “Something’s Got A Hold On Me” in a dressing room at their namesake Cactus Theater in Lubbock absolutely blew me away. These girls look like they’re having a great time harmonizing together — and man, can these kids wail! It’s not just their exceptional singing skills that struck me, but the spirit and passion with which they sing. It seems as though, despite their age, they truly understand the depth, emotion, and soul in Etta James’ incredible voice and lyrics.
