Ashley and her loving husband Kenika were overjoyed when they learned she was pregnant with twins. But they had no idea they were just months away from quite a shock! Ashley's ancestry branches out from Ireland mixed in with a hispanic past, while Kenika is African American along with Chinese and Hawaiian ancestry in there as well.
So when the two fraternal twins were born 9 months later, the parents and doctors were all a bit surprised to see that the baby boy took after his dad, and the little girl looked just like her mom!
Baby Viviana has bright blue eyes and light brown hair, whereas Little Dennis has big brown eyes and black hair. People often stop Ashley on the street and ask her about the two children's "different races."
It's certainly rare but not impossible for fraternal twins to look drastically different. Like the two sisters who shared the same situation, if a biracial couple has fraternal twins, it's certainly possible for one to use a majority of genes and traits from one parent, and the second twin to take more from the other parent.
But for Ashley, she loves them both equally! Even when complete strangers come up and ask her if the babies have the same father, or if they ask the young mother if her children were naturally conceived.
While the constant questions are certainly annoying, all that matters is that she loves her two babies very much and wants both of them to embrace their distinctive qualities.
