When Ryan Seacrest announced that he would replace Pat Sajak on Wheel of Fortune, some fans were skeptical of the change. As time went on, concerns grew, and rumors about Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White’s chemistry (or lack thereof) began circulating. In spite of the initial concerns, Ryan and Vanna now seem to have a great relationship. During a recent interview with People, Ryan revealed that Vanna even gave him a thoughtful gift the day after he mentioned a problem he was facing.
“I was saying, I drink very strong black coffee and my teeth, sometimes you can see it,” Ryan told People. Shortly after Ryan mentioned this problem, Vanna surprised him by immediately finding a solution.
“She went to the store the next day. She brought me white strips,” he added.
When it comes to how he would describe his Wheel of Fortune cohost, Ryan said she is “everything you think Vanna White will be when you meet her” and even described her as an “icon.” According to Ryan, she’s also “super generous and sweet and kind.”

When Ryan announced that he’d be joining the show, he said he was “truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak.”
In his statement shared on Instagram, he added that he couldn’t “wait to continue the tradition of spinning the wheel and working alongside the great Vanna White.” After news of the announcement broke, some fans wondered if Vanna would leave the show, too.
A source previously told the Daily Mail that for Vanna, hosting Wheel of Fortune was “just so difficult to do … without Pat.” However, in September 2024, Ryan told People that he “can’t imagine Wheel of Fortune without Vanna White.”
When he made the decision to join the show, he contacted Vanna to encourage her to stay. “When I signed on to do the deal, that same day, I spoke to Vanna via text, and I just let her know I’m so excited and I hope that she’ll be with the show as long as she wants to be,” he told People.
“We’ve had a magical time together so far,” Ryan added at the time. During an interview with CBS Sunday Morning, Vanna admitted that she was a little worried about working with someone new. “I was very scared, but he’s doing a great job,” Vanna said.
