Céline Dion Says Late Husband Is Watching Over Their Twin Sons As They Celebrate 10th Birthday

Céline Dion can't help but think of her late husband as she watches their twin boys grow.

It's been four years since Céline lost husband René Angélil. The 52-year-old singer has always made sure his presence is alive in the lives of their three sons, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy.

Céline believes René would be just as proud as she is of their twin boys as they turn 10 years old. She shared a heartfelt post to Instagram with throwback photos of the twins. She gushed, as any proud mom would, about the joys of watching them grow. She added that their dad was watching over them.

The international superstar has a beautiful and close relationship with all three of her sons. In them, she sees so many of the qualities she loved about René. In a recent video, she shared what has gone into rebuilding her life after losing her other half.

Céline Dion keeps late husband René Angélil close to her heart. She sees bits of him in their three sons, 19-year-old René-Charles and newly 10-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy. She makes sure the boys feel connected to their dad, too.

October 23 marks Nelson and Eddy's 10th birthday. She shared some throwback photos of the boys as she wished them a heartfelt happy birthday.

"Nelson and Eddy, you have been bringing so much joy, love, and laughter into our lives every single day for the past 10 years," the proud mom wrote.

"You make me, your big brother, and your Dad, who is for sure watching over you, so very proud. Happy birthday my beautiful boys! We love you so very much… – Mom, RC and Dad xx… ."

Just a few days ago, Céline shared a photo with the boys for GLAAD Spirit Day.

"Today we're going purple in solidarity with @glaad #SpiritDay! I encourage all of you to join us and take a stand against anti-LGBTQ bullying. – Celine xx…," she wrote.

Céline delivered a similarly sentimental tribute to René-Charles on his 19th birthday in January.

"My dear René-Charles, I'm so proud of the way you're conducting yourself in life. You're a true gentleman, and I want you to know that your father's guidance continues to support and protect you… as I do," she wrote.

"Keep being the best of yourself… strong, passionate, and wise, as you pursue all of your dreams in life – the sky's the limit! And above all, have a good time!…. Your happiness, is my happiness. I love you so much, my dear son!  Mom xx…"

January also marked four years since the family lost René.

"There is not a day that goes by without me thinking about your beautiful smile. We miss you, thank you for watching over us my love. I love you. Céline xx…," she wrote.

In a behind-the-scenes short video for Apple Music, Céline opened up about healing and rediscovering herself while making her 2019 album, Courage. The album was her first English-language album since René's death.

"Sometimes, we don't think that we are so courageous," Céline said in the video.

"But sometimes we are stronger than we think."

She describes how she needed to harness that courage when she realized she would be a single mom to her three boys.

"Him and I, we were one person," she said of her late husband.

"We were one. So, when he passed away, I kind of felt like for a moment that there was just one half of me."

It was hard for Céline to see a way forward at first. It took some time to adjust her mindset.

"Am I just not going to go on anymore?" she said of her thoughts at the time.

"Or am I going to say: 'I'm a warrior, I'm a mother. I have strength, and I am going to show them that I can do this'?"

"I decided to rebuild my second half. It made me realize that it's time to try new things," Céline said.

The latest chapter of Céline's life has certainly been captivating. It's beautiful to see how she keeps René's spirit close as she continues on her own journey.
