Couple Adopts A Little Girl After Hearing About Her Incredible Story On Television

"I love doing this job!" a little girl exclaims while feeding chickens and busying herself with the responsibilities that come with keeping up a farm. It seems like difficult work indeed, but Jasmine is as bright-eyed and eager as they come. Last year, she appeared on national television with a simple request: She wanted to be adopted.

Jasmine had asked for a home with "a bunch of animals" and one that's "pretty kind." When Mick Goslin of Fort Calhoun, NE, heard those words while watching the news that night, he immediately broke down into tears. Together with his wife Beth, the two knew that something had to be done about Jasmine’s request — and soon!

Adoption stories are always incredibly heartwarming, particularly videos like people with Sarah, who asked her father to adopt her, or Lizzie, who asked her own stepfather to adopt her, too. Families are all different, and it’s those differences that make each one truly special.

The Goslin couple started foster care classes, and invited Jasmine to their farm soon after, eager for her to meet their barnyard animals (they have 500 chickens!) They’ve since officially adopted her, and the three are a loving, happy family together.

"It's a new kind of love," Mick says about becoming a dad. "You don't know that love for a child until you have that child."
