Grandmother Dina Lohan Believes Daughter Lindsay ‘Was Always Meant To Be A Mother’

Becoming a mother is so special. Watching your daughter become a mother is on a whole other level. Dina Lohan is over the moon to be experiencing this. Her soul is "filled with so much love" as she bears witness to daughter Lindsay Lohan’s amazing mothering.

Lindsay and husband Bader Shammas welcomed son Luai in July 2023. The Arabic name means "shield or protector." Dina believes motherhood looks great on her daughter and she could not be more proud.

Dina is a mother of four herself. Luai is her second grandchild. "To watch my oldest daughter with her beautiful son is a memory engraved in my heart forever," Dina gushed to People. "Lindsay took to her best role ever so naturally…she was always meant to be a mother."

"God has truly blessed us all with lil Luai," Dina goes on to say. "As I held Luai, tears of happiness rolled down my cheeks. Bader took to the role of daddy like a pro as well. They are a perfect team." Grandma’s heart is full.

The whole family is thrilled for the new addition. Lindsay’s brother Dakota is also a proud uncle. According to Dina, he cannot wait to teach Luai all about sports.

Even before Luai arrived, Dina was excited. "I'm literally over the moon. I'm so happy, I can't stop smiling," she explained. "It's incredible. We're just so excited. It's just such a beautiful thing for my child! And I love babies. Who doesn't?"

Lindsay and Dina have always seemed to have a close relationship, despite Lindsay's rocky relationship with father, substance abuse, and eating disorder. Lindsay credits Dina with shielding her from most of Michael Lohan’s abuse. That doesn’t mean there haven’t been some issues.

TMZ released audio of Lindsay bad-mouthing her mother in 2012. Lindsay called her dad and claimed her mother was high on cocaine. "She's saying disgusting things to me," she stated. "I'm dead to her now." Lindsay would later downplay the incident and say it was just a normal mother-daughter fight. She also cleared up that her mom was not on cocaine.

In 2016 Lindsay made an enigmatic Instagram post of a woman dropping a phone. She captioned it: "Sometimes it sucks when your mom isn't there for you." She even tagged her mother before deleting it.

Since the 2012 and 2016 incidents, all seems peaceful between the two women. In 2018 Lindsay spoke about being on good terms with her family in a Us Weekly interview. Dina gushing about her grandchild is another sign the two’s relationship is solid. Babies have a way of cementing healing.
