Elon Musk Welcomed Twins With Employee Shivon Zilis Weeks Before Baby With Grimes Was Born

Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis reportedly welcomed twins in secret in late 2021. Shivon, who works as the project director of Elon's company Neuralink, gave birth to the twins in Austin, Texas.

According to Insider, in April 2022 Elon and Shivon asked a court to change the names of their twins to "have their father's last name and contain their mother's last name as part of their middle name."

The names of the twins have been redacted in court documents, and Elon and Shivon have not issued a statement about the babies or indicated what their sex might be. The babies were reportedly born weeks before Elon and ex-partner Grimes welcomed their second child together.

Grimes and Elon shared that their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, was born via surrogate in December 2021. The update wasn't intentional. A reporter for Vanity Fair heard a baby crying while interviewing Grimes, who ended up confessing that their second baby was upstairs.

Grimes and Elon eventually broke up, but the singer later revealed that they co-parent their two children together. As she told Vanity Fair, "Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and X is just out there. I mean, I think E is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff. … X is out there. His situation is like that."

With the birth of his twins with Shivon, Elon is now known to have fathered 10 children. He and ex-wife Justine Wilson had six together: Nevada, who died weeks after his birth, twins Vivian Jenna Wilson and Griffin Musk, and triplets Kai, Damian, and Sax Musk.

Not much is known about Shivon, who Page Six reports is a former ice hockey player from Canada. Shivon began working at IBM following her graduation from Yale. She eventually moved on to Neuralink.
