Dads celebrate their babies coming into the world in many beautiful ways.
Fathers have helped welcome their children with happy tears, announcements online, pretty pictures, tattoos, and even cool gifts they make themselves.
We have seen amazing dads use their hands to create toys, clothes, and even incredible forts like this dream dinosaur play structure.
But other dads show their love for their little ones by creating something a little more practical — like a crib for them to sleep in!
This is exactly what one excited dad-to-be set out to do when he found out he had a baby on the way.
Using time and patience, he created a crib that was a total masterpiece, and chronicled the process online.

When he found out that his wife was pregnant, this dad-to-be set out on a project that he could welcome his baby into the world with — a cool crib!

Chronicling the entire process online, he photographed the bespoke baby crib until its completion — and no detail was spared!

"I had really never done anything like this before but I figured if I was soon to be a parent I could use an exercise in patience," he explained on Imgur.

Though he claimed that he had never attempted such a big woodworking project before, the care in which he measured the designs, cut the slats, and created every unique detail definitely informed his love of the craft — and his future baby!

After cutting and fitting scores of little slats, he finally created one side of the crib and went about making the other sides

When they were all fitted together, the crib really started to take shape — but its base was just the beginning.

The maple wood rails were decorated with beautiful carvings.

The legs and posts were then added.

And all the while, he had the help of his canine companion Lizzy.

The final addition to the beautiful baby crib was a headboard bedecked with a lion plaque.

This particular piece was too intricate to create by hand, so it was ordered online instead.

Once it was all cut, sanded, and assembled, it was certainly a sight to see — you can barely believe it was completed by hand!

All that was left to do for Dad was to paint it and test its sturdiness out — though the only thing sleeping in there would be a 10th of his size!

The finished product was a stunning, classic crib that was 100 percent built with love.

And what did his beautiful newborn think of Dad's labor of love? Judging by his peaceful slumber, it looks like it's a hit!
