Frankie Muniz And His Wife Paige Are Expecting Their First Child Together: ‘We Beat The Odds’

Frankie Muniz has done a lot since his days on the set of Malcolm in the Middle. For some time, he was a racecar driver — and he reportedly competed in over 50 races. He was also a drummer at one point, working with Pennsylvania-based back Kingsfoil. And now, the actor is going to be a dad.

Frankie has been married to his wife, Paige Price, since they officially tied the knot in February 2020 in Phoenix. They were engaged in November 2018, after Frankie proposed at the Night Lights Sky Lantern Festival in Casa Grande, Arizona.

The pregnancy news came as a bit of a surprise for the couple, who had learned they may have difficulty conceiving.

"When we found out we were expecting, I think we were both in a state of disbelief," Paige said, in a video the couple posted. "We knew that we wanted this, but we were told our chances weren't that great. The struggle of going to every doctor's appointment made me feel less and less like a woman," she said.

Many women have been in Paige's shoes before. Having a baby can be a difficult task for many couples.

"I'm excited to say we beat the odds and we're officially 15 weeks along and counting," she continued.

Paige is currently 15 weeks along. "In the past four-and-a-half years, Paige and I have experienced so many incredible things together," Frankie said in the video. "We've traveled the world, got to live out all these once-in-a-lifetime opportunities. While we still believe it's the little moments in between the big ones that make you feel happiest, nothing quite compares to hearing your little one's heartbeat."

"We felt like we were living and experiencing a real-life miracle for the first time," Frankie continued. "The second I heard that heartbeat, reality set in. I was throwing out baby names and future career choices." Their baby is due in March 2021.

While their wedding was just this year, they reportedly made it official months earlier. Still, their celebration with family and friends was quite memorable. For one, dried flowers caused a fire during the big day. But luckily, things were contained in time.

"Right as the officiant started, some of the flowers were knocked into a candle, and literally, 10-foot flames. Everyone was screaming!" Frankie told People magazine. "They put it out really quickly and then we just continued," he added. "It was definitely a memorable moment"

The elopement happened because the couple were waiting on a home renovation after a flood, which took up some of their time. "It was just five of us there," said Frankie. "We hiked up Camelback Mountain at sunset and just got married! But we still wanted to have a wedding. And we planned on it being pretty small so we could have it at our house."

"Timing was perfect, but then 10 days before, we realized, there is no way we can have it here," he continued. "We waited a year and a half for our house to be built, no way am I having the floors scratched!" Frankie reportedly said his own vows during the ceremony, and they were nine minutes long.

While Paige started her career as a model at the age of 18, these days, she's devoting energy into keeping Outrageous Olive Oils & Vinegars alive. The store, which she owns with Frankie, is in Scottsdale. "Cooking with quality ingredients like extra virgin olive oil is the cornerstone of the Mediterranean diet," the website states. "These cultures are the world's longest-living because of their careful attention to diet and the benefits of premium nourishment."

All in all, Frankie seems really happy with his life today — which is great, because the actor has suffered through some rough stages. In 2011, a story circulated about Frankie and his then-girlfriend, Elycia Turnbow, getting into a dispute that involved a gun. Years later, Frankie made sure to clear up the incident and explain what actually happened.

"It actually just became funny," Frankie told Fox News. "I didn't let it bother me.  It wasn't true. Neither of us came close to being arrested. The fact that the story ran the way it did was just insane to me. We were like, 'What are they going to say next?' There wasn't more to it, just a fake overblown story. It went away and people forget."

He also suffered from several mini-strokes. These days, he said he's trying hard to prevent those health scares from happening again. "I'm recovered and I'm definitely enjoying life," he said. "I did [make changes], just to help to prevent it from happening again. I'm a very high-stress person and am all about getting things done."

"It's hard for me to just sit down," he clarified. "I've tried to force myself to relax, play golf and go for motorcycle rides. I try to eat better, but it's hard because I love baby back ribs. I'm trying to take it easy." Frankie has also admitted in the past that he's suffered from severe memory loss. For example, he has trouble recalling many memories from the set of Malcolm in the Middle.

"I only know what it's like to be me. Or have my brain," he explained to People. "So, I'm only reminded of how bad my memory is when people I see, they come to me and go, 'Oh, you remember when we did this? Remember we went on this trip to this country?' And I have no recollection of it, but in my head, it's not like I feel bad or sad about it."

Hopefully, that's another situation he's more in control of these days — especially with a baby on the way. "I just want to keep moving forward so I don't really dwell too much on the past," he added. Back when he was on Dancing With The Stars, he opened up more about his condition and said that Paige helped him recall memories by having him write in a journal.

It seems as if Frankie is happy, healthy, and excited about becoming a father. It looks like he found his soul mate, and is in a great mental space. Now, the real question — when will Frankie's baby be able to watch him on Malcolm in the Middle?
