There’s a little bit of a smirk on the young woman's face in this video as she glances over at at her grandmother, but no indication as to why she’s so amused. It seems like a pretty normal holiday for Grandma, who was all ready to head to London with a tiny camera in tow. But she soon realized that her trip would be taking a very unexpected turn — and before it even began!
“So you’ll be clearing U.S. customs for your flight to New York,” says the ticket agent, and the completely shocked expression on Grandma’s face is truly priceless. The kindhearted ticket agent, clearly amused by the whole display (and in on the surprise, of course!), patiently repeats herself.
And when Grandma looks to her granddaughter for confirmation? My eyes definitely welled up with tears.
Flight surprises are very popular, whether they occur on or off the plane itself. There was the bus driver who won the chance to propose — and even wed! — his girlfriend mid-flight. And some travelers are lucky enough to meet flight attendants with their own surprises, too, like the one who helped a stressed mom with her baby.
We hope to hear how Grandma’s spontaneous trip to New York went, and whether she snapped any cute photos with that camera of hers!
