It's a well-known fact that you should always respect your elders, and for college student and athlete Kelsey Harmon, she takes that fact very seriously.
So when her grandfather, or Papaw as she likes to call him, invited her and his five other grandchildren to a special family dinner, she was incredibly excited and looking forward to the meal and conversation.
Papaw cooked up 12 delicious hamburgers and he was looking forward to hanging out with his six grandkids, but unfortunately, Kelsey was the only one who managed to show up. Heartbroken, Papaw ate his burger with Kelsey, and while they still had a great time, Kelsey couldn't hold back her sadness. She snapped a photo of him to share with the other grandkids who didn't show.
However, Kelsey had no idea that this simple picture was destined to go viral. Within just a few days, this picture was everywhere. And people from all over the world were telling how much they loved and supported Papaw.
Kelsey defended the other grandkids, citing how each one of them had a particular reason to not visit, and unfortunately many people are focusing on the five who didn't come, as opposed to the one who did.
Kelsey stated that she had no intention of getting famous off of this photo and feels undeserving of it. In a heartwarming post, she explained how many messages she has received with people telling her how her picture of Papaw "encouraged people everywhere to visit their grandparents."

Kelsey was heartbroken for her dear Papaw when they realized that none of the other grandchildren were going to come for a special dinner. So she snapped this photo, and within days, her post went incredibly viral!
People from all over the world were letting Papaw know just how much they loved him, and how they appreciated him so much, even though he isn't their Papaw! Some people even made fun pictures to show off just how cool he is.
When Kelsey asked her Papaw how he felt about being cool, he simply replied how it was nothing special or new, because he's already been cool for so long!

It's always smart to respect your elders, and Kelsey clearly knows that. This is a generation of people who are wiser and have lived through many more experiences; they have a lot to teach, but you have to be willing to learn. Kelsey wants to learn, and we love her for it!
