Grandma Literally Can’t Contain Her Excitement When Her Grandson Wins Olympic Gold

For those who don’t know, Adam Peaty is an enormously talented 21-year-old swimmer currently representing Great Britain at the Olympic Games. But you don’t have to take my word for it — just ask his grandma!

Mavis Williams, the "Proud Nan to a World Champion Breaststroker" (as described in her own Twitter bio), was eagerly cheering for her grandson while watching him on television.

And when he actually won? Let’s just say I’m glad someone had a camera rolling!

There are so many utterly charming grandma videos out there. You should see the one where a grandma shocks her entire family by getting a tattoo! There’s also the grandma who volunteers at her grandson’s school. In all of these stories, the sheer amount of love for their grandchildren is just so palpable.

It’s the same for Williams, who hoots and hollers when she watches as her grandson wins Olympic gold. The moment is a very special one, but to see it happen just as she experiences it? That’s truly a wonderful gift.

"My Grandson has done it," Williams tweeted, which was quickly followed by another touching message: "Well you have done it [Adam], you have made it, your hard work paid off. Congratulations to you and [Melanie Marshall]. So proud love Nan."

How utterly adorable is that? It's just like receiving a carefully folded envelope in the mail — only faster, and way more public. You go, Grandma!
