Selling Sunset and Flip or Flop stars Heather Rae and Tarek El Moussa posted on Instagram announcing their baby’s gender.
The couple shot off confetti cannons to make the discovery along with their guests at a gender reveal party. Blue confetti can only mean one thing!
The guests and the couple happily shouted: “It’s a boy!”
The couple were initially surprised to discover they were expecting. They had planned to implant via IVF, but it turned out that was not necessary. Heather told People magazine, “It was a huge shock. We just weren't expecting this. We had just gone through IVF. We had embryos on ice. We had a plan."
The shock quickly gave way to happiness. Heather mused, “I think when you least expect it and there's no stress in your life, the world just brought us what was meant to be. I'm so excited that it happened like this.”
Tarek also has two children from his previous marriage to Christina Hall. His daughter Taylor is 11, and his son Brayden is 6. Heather loves being their bonus mom.
She loved it so much at first she was not sure she wanted to have kids. Heather stated, “When we first started dating three years ago, we went into our relationship not planning on having children together.”
Things evolved as their relationship deepened. Heather remembers, “I started picturing myself having a child with Tarek. I started thinking I just wanted to create something with the man that I'm in love with."
Tarek completely agrees. He told People: "I'm just obsessed with my kids. They're my everything, so having another one is just icing on the cake. I'm so excited."
Another amazing fact is that Heather’s sister is also pregnant. It is so special to the sisters to get to share this experience together. Heather gushed, “It was my parents' dream that we were pregnant at the same time. I never thought that would happen and the fact that it happened on its own just makes this so special for our family."
The next big step for the growing family is to find a new house. Tarek stated, “We are looking for a new house and if we don't find that house when the baby comes, we do have room for the baby at our current home. But we definitely need to find a bigger house with a yard and some more space."
Luckily the pair kind of have that whole renovation and real estate experience thing in the bag.
